Overview of Veneer and plywood manufacturer Jamaica
The veneer manufacturing process, cuts log into peelable lengths, removes bark, and places veneer bolt into lathe. lathe carriage moves forward as spindles rotate bolt. As full length veneer knife slices through wood fibre, spinning bolt becomes a veneer ribbon.
The veneer ribbon is transported downstream, clipped into selected widths, and sorted onto loads by width and moisture content. veneer is then dried to a predetermined moisture content, usually 3-6%. drying process stabilises veneer dimension, strengthens fibres, and prepares wood for gluing. veneer is next sorted by width and grade, and taped or spliced if layons need repair. veneer is then ready for panel laying. veneers are then prepared for gluing and pressing into plywood. After pressing plywood is conditioned and finished and packed for shipment.

plywood manufacturer Jamaica
As new types of plywood are being created, number of plywood manufacturers is increasing across globe. There are varied scales of companies in plywood industry. Some of manufacturers are into entire process beginning with lumbering, processing timber and then manufacturing varied grades of plywood. Other plywood manufacturers purchase raw material and only manufacture and supply finished product.
The larger plywood manufacturers deal in almost every grade of plywood, something of them even creating new ones. One other hand smaller manufacturers prefer to specialize in just a couple of plywood types. There are some manufacturing units that also house a distributing unit, trading in other plywood brands.
Basically, when purchasing plywood, it is not so much about brand name, but grade being manufactured. Every manufacturer is required to stamp their plywood so that customer is assured of what has been delivered. Most manufacturers are a part of associations that promote their welfare and keep them updated on latest trends in plywood manufacturing.
